When: April 11th, 6-8pm

Where: ReVision Energy, 7 Commercial Dr, Brentwood, NH 03833

Cost: FREE

What: Revision Energy and Ultra Geothermal would like to invite you to attend an educational seminar about Solar PV and Geothermal, two renewable energy technologies that work together very well. With geothermal, you can use the earth’s constant temperature to heat and cool your home using extremely efficient heat pumps. Then, use solar to provide electricity and offset your geothermal electric bill, allowing your home to be entirely ‘net zero’ in its heating and cooling. Combine renewable technologies to reduce your fossil fuel consumption and save you money!

This evening seminar will be held at ReVision Energy’s Brentwood, NH showroom which sports an awning-mount PV array, solar hot water, and fully automated pellet boiler. RSVP: maho@ultrageothermal.com

Warrenstreet Architects is extremely proud to announce the Merit Award we received for Harriman Hill Workforce Housing located in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire from the American Institute of Architects New Hampshire Chapter (AIANH). Doug Proctor and Jonathan Halle along with members of the Eastern Lakes Housing Coalition attended the awards banquet on Friday, January 11th at the Bedford Village Inn. The AIANH Excellence in Architecture Design Awards recognizes works which exemplify excellence in overall design, including aesthetics, clarity, creativity, appropriate functionality, sustainability, building performance and appropriateness with regard to fulfilling the client’s program.

Selected from 39 submissions, ten projects were recognized at the AIANH Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet.

Our firm was responsible for the complete design of Harriman Hill, 24 units of work force housing rental community located in the beautiful Lakes Region of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. The project consists of six, 4-unit apartment buildings in the first phase of construction; six buildings will be added in the second phase for a total of 48 units, and the third phase will add 20 single-family houses. Each unit provides for an open floor plan, appliances and heat and hot water are included. The setting provides for a sense of community while fitting into the rural fabric and being five minutes from downtown. Harriman Hill was designed with many sustainable features including solar panels, natural gas-fired hot water boiler and individual recovery ventilators were installed in each apartment.

The jury consisted of multiple individuals from the Rhode Island architecture community. Here is what they had to say: “The Harriman Hill project demonstrated a thoughtful approach to workforce housing that the jury found refreshing…The aesthetics were complemented by an attention to energy efficiency, with specifications for highly insulated walls and roofs and heat recovery ventilation in each unit. The architects tackled a challenging social and economic building type and delivered architecture that is attractive, livable and energy efficient – what more could we ask?”

The remainder of the design team consisted of the following firms; Nobis Engineering, Inc. of Concord provided civil engineering, TFmoran, Inc. of Bedford provided structural engineering, Petersen Engineering, Inc. of Portsmouth provided mechanical engineering and Lee F. Carroll, PE of Gorham provided electrical engineering. Harriman Hill is owned by Eastern Lakes Housing Coalition of Wolfeboro and Laconia Area Community Land Trust of Laconia is the managing partner. The Hartland Group of Burlington, VT was the developer for the project.
