“Missing Middle”, a term coined by Opticos Design, refers to those duplexes, triple-deckers, small apartment buildings and other types of homes that fall between the detached single-family home and large apartment buildings.

As land and budgets become tighter, many are taking a new look at these traditional designs – in communities of all sizes.

On Thursday, June 7, Plan NH will host a workshop on this topic.  The morning will provide an overview of what “missing middle” housing is, and what kinds of zoning might support it.  In the afternoon, there will be a hands-on workshop to test out ideas.

This workshop has been approved for AICP credits.  AIA credits pending.
