Commissioning for High Performance Buildings

Building systems commissioning is a term familiar to those involved in sustainability, but many wish to learn more about the process and its benefits.  This presentation will describe the commissioning process, why it is necessary for high performance buildings, and discuss the commissioning requirements for the LEED® rating system.

Presenters:

Mike Eardley, PE, LEED AP

Mike is Director of Commissioning at CannonDesign. In this role he develops and implements commissioning practices, manages group project execution, and serves as project manager on commissioning projects. His experience includes commissioning, HVAC design, and performance verification of building systems.  He is currently Vice-Chair of the USGBC’s New Hampshire Chapter, and a representative to the Upper Northeast Region.

Bo Petersson, PE, LEED AP

Bo is the Director of Engineering Services at Cornerstone Commissioning. Prior to working for Cornerstone Commissioning, Bo worked for 14 years as the Dartmouth College campus mechanical engineer.  In this role he was involved in many cutting edge projects, many of them heavily focused on energy efficient operation.  His work focuses on commissioning laboratory facilities and other critical environments.
