CONSTRUCTION UNDERWAY AT NEW FIRE AND RESCUE STATION IN MILTON

Bedford, NH, May 2016 –

Sitework has begun and building construction will soon commence on a new state-of-the-art, 9,000 square-foot fire and rescue station in Milton, NH. The new facility, which is being built by Eckman Construction of Bedford, will replace the outdated 65-year-old current station and provide a safer, more functional space for Milton’s Fire and Rescue teams. Milton Fire Station Sitework

“We have enjoyed working with Chief Marique, his staff and the Milton Selectmen during the design phase of the project,” remarked Preston Hunter, Vice President, Eckman Construction. “We are pleased that construction is now underway.”

The new station is being constructed on a plot of land donated by the Downs family, as the project will honor the memory of the late Herbert Downs, Sr., who served as Milton’s Fire Chief for several years. The facility will include four apparatus bays and is designed to accommodate full-time staff with living quarters to meet the future growing needs of the department.
