Plan New Hampshire is pleased to announce the publication of the Hampton Community Design Charrette Report!

Held on October 17–18, the event involved an extensive site tour of the Lafayette Road corridor and public listening sessions to gather vital community input. The Plan NH team is grateful to the dozens of community members came out to share their experiences and hopes for their community.  Based on what they saw and heard, our volunteer team of professionals then developed a series of design recommendations aimed at enhancing the aesthetic and functional quality of Hampton’s Town Center.

Plan New Hampshire's Purpose in Hampton

In May 2025, Hampton applied for a Plan NH charrette to take a closer look at Hampton’s Town Center. Building on the goals set in the Town’s 2023 Master Plan, this exercise was all about planning for a more lively and connected downtown.

The Town’s goals for this charrette focused on:

  1. Preliminary planning actions intended to aesthetically enhance the downtown;
  2. Evaluate sidewalks, streetscape, and other elements to promote connectivity within the downtown;
  3. Identify areas for higher residential density and explore a broader range of housing options;
  4. Underscore safety enhancements and mitigate traffic congestion;
  5. Create a desirable Town Center and make it a great place to “live, work, and play.
