Established in 1989, CATCH Neighborhood Housing is a 501(c)3 nonprofit real estate development organization that strengthens communities by building and managing a diverse portfolio of safe, high quality, affordable rental housing for individuals and families, including veterans, seniors, and people with disabilities.
Recognizing that stable housing alone is not enough, we pair affordable homes with comprehensive support services through our Resident Services Program. This cornerstone initiative connects individuals and families with critical resources, including financial literacy workshops, employment support, healthcare access, food assistance, and community engagement opportunities. These wraparound services help residents overcome barriers, achieve greater economic independence, and build lasting stability.
CATCH’s approach reflects a deep understanding that thriving communities require both affordable housing and the support systems that empower residents to succeed. By remaining nimble and responsive to the region’s changing needs, we have developed innovative housing solutions tailored to low and moderate-income individuals and families. This commitment to comprehensive community development has positioned CATCH as an essential partner in creating strong, connected neighborhoods where all residents have the opportunity to thrive.
Quick Q&A
with Tom Furtado, President & CEO
Why did your organization join Plan NH?
I wanted CATCH Neighborhood Housing to join Plan NH because we want our organization to play a larger role in the conversation about how New Hampshire can best incorporate affordable and workforce housing into its cities and towns. As an affordable housing developer, we know that the most successful communities are the most demographically diverse, with housing for individuals, families, and seniors from all stages of life.
What is your favorite part of Plan NH?
My favorite part of Plan NH is meeting like-minded people whose common goal is to improve the state of New Hampshire for everyone, residents and tourists alike. That shared purpose and vision among members makes for some vibrant conversations about how best to achieve that goal. CATCH has also received InvestNH funding to support the construction of affordable housing in the state, and we are grateful for Plan NH’s role in making that funding possible.
Is there anything else we should know about your organization?
As housing prices rose, and affordable housing became more scarce for New Hampshire’s workforce, CATCH was instrumental in raising awareness, spearheading affordable housing opportunities, refurbishing existing structures and building new, and honoring what would become CATCH’s mission to “create communities where every person is confident of a safe and affordable home.
